In the last couple days some students and professors at UNLV might have noticed an informal looking “reserved” parking sign over the parking meters in front of FDH.
Turns out those reserved meters are not for students or any other regular campus attenders.
These particular meters are reserved for people from other companies and departments representing UNLV. They are reserved when there is an event or conference going on that day. Each reserved spot means that, that space has already been paid for, for that day. These reserved participants pay in advance on an hourly rate. At the end of the day the signs are removed from the meters.
When I contacted UNLV Parking Services they refused to answer what the hourly rate was for reserved meters.
So next time you see one of these meters out of time, just keep walking.
